Build around your store’s strengths
A discount store focused on grocery has different needs from one centered on housewares, apparel or mixed general merchandise. Tell MRT which departments you want to grow and what already sells well. Product dimensions, price bands and display space help define a useful lot. A broad assortment is most valuable when you have a clear plan for where it will go.
Understand what is inside the lot
Review the manifest, available cases and assortment details. New overstock, discontinued lines, shelf pulls and customer returns should not be treated as the same condition. Ask what has been inspected or tested, what remains unknown and whether photos represent the full shipment. For mixed-condition goods, consider the labor required to sort and prepare merchandise.
- SKU-level descriptions where available
- Counts by category, case or individual unit
- Condition notes, missing components and packaging differences
Evaluate margin together with handling
Compare the purchase price with freight, receiving, inspection, merchandising and storage needs. A bulky low-value assortment may require more space than its sales potential justifies. Share your dock access, forklift availability and receiving schedule so the quote addresses the way your store actually operates. Discuss any special delivery requirements before finalizing terms.
Keep new buying opportunities organized
Use the catalog to build a quote for individual lots, or contact MRT with a buying profile for the categories you want. Confirm quantities and current availability with the team. Closeout assortments change, so a past opportunity should not be treated as a promise of replenishment. Your request starts a conversation about the inventory available for your business.
Before you buy.
Does MRT work with discount retailers buying by the pallet?
Yes. Tell MRT the categories and quantities you need. Pallet configuration, available lots and minimum quantities are confirmed individually.
Can I ask for new merchandise only?
Yes. State the condition you want, including whether sealed retail packaging and original master cases are required.
Are return pallets suitable for every discount store?
No. They may require sorting, inspection or other work. Review the lot’s actual condition and your ability to handle it before buying.
