Review the actual retail product
Check the brand, flavor, net contents, individual unit count and packaging format. A food-service pack and a retail-ready grocery item serve different customers. Review labeling and current photos to understand how the goods will appear on the shelf. For an assorted lot, request a breakdown so the strongest items do not obscure products that are harder for your store to move.
- Shelf-stable pantry products and packaged snacks
- Beverages and packaged grocery assortments
- Household essentials that complement a grocery department
Treat dates as a lot-level detail
Request the printed date information for each relevant SKU and lot. Review expected transit time, receiving time and your own selling window together. Tell MRT about the date requirements your business uses before requesting a final quote. Do not assume one product’s remaining life applies to every carton in a mixed shipment.
Account for storage and receiving
Explain the storage conditions you can provide and confirm the requirements of the merchandise being discussed. Include your receiving address, appointment process, unloading equipment and pallet limitations. This page does not imply a standing refrigerated or frozen inventory program; ask MRT about the specific goods and handling needed for any temperature-sensitive opportunity.
Use closeouts with a merchandising plan
Plan whether the merchandise will fill a regular shelf, support a promotional display or create a temporary value section. Estimate a useful quantity based on store traffic and space. Share the number of locations and the quantities per location if you are buying for multiple stores. MRT confirms the actual lot, pricing and fulfillment terms before an order is finalized.
Before you buy.
Can I ask for a specific remaining shelf life?
Yes. State your requirements in the request and ask for dates by SKU and lot. Availability depends on the merchandise being offered.
Does MRT guarantee continuing supply of a closeout?
No. Closeout quantities can be finite. Discuss the available lot and avoid assuming it can be replenished on the same terms.
Can a grocery quote include household merchandise?
Yes. Describe the grocery and household categories you need, or add available catalog lots to one request.
