SELL CLOSEOUTS TO MRT

Discontinued merchandise & closeout buyer

Discontinuing a line does not always mean the remaining merchandise has reached the end of its usefulness. MRT Promotions buys discontinued products and closeout inventory from businesses changing their assortment. Explain what is being retired, what remains available and whether the change affects the product, packaging or support behind it.

Describe the reason for discontinuation

A retailer dropping a SKU is different from a manufacturer ending production. Identify whether the line is being replaced, renamed, reformulated or simply removed from a particular assortment. That context helps MRT understand the opportunity. Be clear about any issue that affects the goods themselves rather than describing every outgoing item as a routine closeout.

Identify models, versions and included parts

For products with variations or accessories, show the exact model and contents of the retail package. Explain compatibility and any differences from the replacement line. Include packaging photos and identifiers so the merchandise can be distinguished from a current version. For dated goods, show the actual lot and date details rather than only the date the line was discontinued.

Share the remaining inventory picture

List available cases or units by SKU, with quantities separated by warehouse or packaging version where needed. Identify open cases, damaged cartons and returns separately from new sealed merchandise. Explain whether the submission includes the final available stock or a portion of the line. MRT can then review a defined lot instead of an uncertain range.

Discuss terms before moving the goods

Include any channel restrictions, warranty information or support limitations relevant to the proposed sale. Share timing and loading requirements. MRT reviews the merchandise and discusses pricing and logistics individually; a discontinued designation alone does not determine value or make every item suitable for resale.

QUESTIONS ABOUT DISCONTINUED PRODUCTS

Before you submit.

Can I submit a line that has been replaced by a newer model?

Yes. Identify the outgoing model, included components and differences that matter for resale.

What if only the retail packaging was discontinued?

Use the packaging-change inventory information and explain whether the product itself is unchanged. Provide the actual UPC and packaging photos.

Do you review discontinued goods across multiple categories?

Yes. Browse the merchandise categories MRT buys and submit an organized list for the specific products you want to sell.
