Give finished goods a separate sales conversation
A production overrun may be perfectly packaged merchandise that no longer fits your immediate distribution plan. A discontinued line may need to leave before its replacement arrives. Tell MRT what created the excess and which SKUs you are offering. Keep finished sellable goods separate from unfinished products, raw materials or items requiring additional work so the opportunity is clear from the start.
Explain the packaging transition
For a label update, design refresh or pack-size change, identify the outgoing version and provide current photos. Note whether the UPC, ingredients, contents or included components also changed. A cosmetic package update is a different situation from a change to the product itself. The merchandise list should make that distinction easy to understand without relying on a generic description such as old stock.
Share distribution requirements early
If your brand has channel, territory or resale restrictions, include them with the initial submission. Discuss the proposed inventory disposition with MRT before treating any limitation as agreed. Be specific about which products and quantities the restrictions cover. The conversation should establish a workable fit for both the merchandise and the requirements attached to it.
Build a useful manufacturer manifest
Provide brand names, item descriptions, UPCs, available cases, units per case and warehouse locations. Separate sellable inventory from allocations you still need for existing customers. Include dates and lot codes when relevant, pallet configuration and your preferred movement schedule. MRT reviews the opportunity and discusses pricing and logistics individually.
- Finished-goods SKU list and current packaging photos
- New case-packed counts and any mixed-condition quantities
- Packaging version, dates and applicable distribution requirements
Before you submit.
Does MRT buy production overruns?
Yes. Submit finished-goods overruns with product, quantity, packaging and location details. Each opportunity is reviewed individually.
Can I submit merchandise after a packaging redesign?
Yes. Identify the old and new packaging versions and explain whether the contents, UPC or product specifications changed.
Can we discuss brand or channel restrictions?
Yes. Include specific requirements at the outset. Any restrictions and purchase terms must be discussed and agreed for the lot.
